know
When to marry
The drier north-east monsoon season, roughly December to April, is the most popular time. May to November brings more rain and wind, though it stays warm all year.
Ceremony & paperwork
Two foreign non-Muslim visitors cannot legally marry in the Maldives, because Maldivian marriage law applies Islamic principles. Wedding ceremonies at Maldivian resorts are symbolic: beautiful and personal, with a ceremonial certificate, but with no legal effect. Couples usually complete the legal marriage in the UK before or after their trip.
For your guests
Best for couples marrying alone or with a very small group, given travel and resort costs. We can help guests with flights from different UK airports, accommodation options and, where available, payment arrangements.
Honeymoon pairing
You are already on honeymoon, or add Dubai or Sri Lanka.
