When to marry

Spring and autumn are popular for comfortable temperatures. High summer is very hot; winter is mild but cooler, with a quieter feel.

Ceremony & paperwork

Cyprus is one of the more straightforward places for UK couples to marry legally. Civil weddings are held by municipal marriage offices such as Paphos, with both partners applying in person shortly before the ceremony with passports, birth certificates and a recent certificate of marital status (apostilled where required), plus two witnesses on the day. There is a standard notice route and a faster special-licence route for an extra fee. Check current requirements with the municipality before booking.

Legal or symbolic?A legal ceremony abroad makes you married under that country’s law. A symbolic ceremony has all the romance without the paperwork, and many couples then complete a short legal formality in the UK. Requirements vary and can change, so always check current official guidance for your destination, including GOV.UK’s guidance on getting married abroad, before booking.

Guests can usually choose from a good spread of hotel styles nearby, and we can line up transfers from the airport. We can help guests with flights from different UK airports, accommodation options and, where available, payment arrangements.
